Freeing a seized AC compressor involves determining what caused the seize and performing the necessary repairs. Problem is, this car has 300 000 kms (190 000 miles) on it and I am done putting money into it. I've ordered the idler pulley and have the belt specified above. It the compressor wrecked then as suggested above, system difinitely need to be flushed and orifice replaced. AC compressor replacement If you have noticed that your AC compressor is worn out, try to replace it as soon as possible. The pulley on the compressor seized up completely. Apparently the a/c compressor pulley seized, breaking the belt. At this point putting another AC compressor is not an option - I jsut spent $1000 on shocks and the car, while reliable, has started to turn the corner and is costing more and more money every month. I just drove from VA to Texas and back, and my AC compressor pulley has totally seized on me. So what make a new belt shred when the compressor doesn't seize? I think the indy put the seal rings in the incorrectly in the R4 so it leaks. I have received mixed information regarding this.
